IMPROV COMEDY FOR THE CLASSROOM
120 minutes (also offered in 60 and 90 minutes)

1) Intro, Expectations (5 minutes)
2a) Warm Up Games ~ whole class (15 minutes)
Connect mind/body, bring everyone into the moment, frame mind-set for play/positivity, effective communication tools, creative risk-taking and acceptance (vs. judgement)
2b) Learn to Fail Games ~ whole class (25 minutes)
Practicing process-oriented play/creativity wherein losing & failing are part of the game
3) Listening, Supporting & Collaborating Games ~ small groups (25 minutes)
Making offers, responding with acceptance to spontaneity and partners’ offers, building on what is present (vs. trying to change/fix/control outcomes); and reinforcing how a process-oriented approach can lead to comedy, connection, opportunity...
4) Improvised Storytelling with Ensemble ~ whole class (15 minutes)
Establishing story platforms, character development, world-building through a collaborative, improvised process (using skills practiced in the workshop)
5) Putting It Altogether ~ whole class (optional: Audience/Performance style) (30 minutes)
6) Check In, Questions (5 minutes)
